Brexit, one vote, two sides.

The United Kingdom is the only country that colonized the world and  is now complaining about immigration! This is very ironic in my opinion; here is my take on that obnoxious stance. This is not a blog against rights of voting or democracy, only an opinion of democracy gone wrong.

Brexit recently took over the international news. The United Kingdom voted to leave the European Union on Thursday June 23, 2016. Leaving won with 52% of the votes. The referendum turnout was 71.8%, with more than 30 million people voting.

This picture displays the irony of the vote and that it is nothing but a loss of taxpayers money to the UK

This vote’s propaganda got some English citizens convinced that leaving is the solution to their migrant workers influx and they will have more jobs.  My question is: why were those positions vacant in the first place?  Was this considered before making a major decision, which will impact future generations and the long-term economy?

Speaking of jobs, this “exit” will almost certainly revoke free movement rights which allow UK citizens to work in the EU and vice versa. This decision affected the lives of 1.2 million British people working and living in different countries within the union. Do you have enough jobs for those people once they come back home?

This decision has given a carte blanche for the radicals and racists in the United Kingdom. Now their voices are actually heard. Since the vote, the percentage of race and hate crime has risen in the country. A rise of 42% in two weeks is definitely something to worry about – but hey, at least the immigrants are leaving!

In conclusion, alienating the Britain from the European Union, only results in making it that island next to Europe.  It is a loss in money, jobs and a display of a false sense of entitlement from the British side, without consideration of the future generations.
